Cher seeks conservatorship of son, says Elijah Blue Allman's life is 'at peril'

In a conservatorship petition filed on Wednesday, Cher was named temporary custodian of the estate of her son Elijah Blue Allman.

According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, the 77-year-old musician stated that Elijah is "substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues."

Gregg Allman, a musician, and Cher are the parents of Allman. In 1975, Cher wed Gregg Allman a few days after divorcing Sonny Bono. 

Fox News Digital's request for comment was not immediately answered by Cher's representatives.

Cher argued in the application for conservatorship, Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit.

Elijah's mother was proposed by two of his siblings to serve as conservator.
