Does 2024 bring a new Pokemon live-action movie? Details on the Tom Holland rumors.

Now is the time to find out if the reports that Tom Holland is in a live-action Pokémon movie coming out in 2024 are true.

A fan-made video on YouTube is making people think that Tom Holland will play the lead role in a new live-action Pokémon movie that will come out sometime in 2024.

The first source for these rumors was Small-Screen in 2020, which cited We Got This Covered's story that Holland was being considered to play the lead role in a new Pokémon movie.

Some people said that Holland might play Blue Oak, Professor Oak's grandson from the original Pokémon games, in a spin-off movie that would take place in the same world as the 2019 Detective Pikachu movie.

Bad news is that the reports that this movie is being made are pretty easy to disprove.

The main sign that this news isn't true is that the clip in question mostly used footage from Detective Pikachu (2019), with some footage from other Tom Holland movies as well.

The Pokémon brand has a bright future ahead of it, but there are no signs that a Tom Holland-led movie is in the works right now.

In March 2023, Deadline said that there would be a live-action Detective Pikachu sequel. Jonathan Krisel, co-creator of Portlandia, was in talks to direct, and Chris Galletta, writer of The Kings of Summer, was hired to write the story.
