Former WWE star thinks AEW could recruit a key free agent with a higher contract than Charlotte Flair.

Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, may make more money from AEW than Charlotte Flair does from the Stamford-based organization, according to former WWE head writer Vince Russo.

WWE and The Queen just inked a contract renewal. According to reports, this was the greatest payout for a female superstar in the Stamford, Connecticut, company's history.

But later on, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Mercedes was asking for even more than Charlotte did in her current contract discussions.

On the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's podcast, The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo gave Charlotte Flair his congratulations for her new deal.

Russo said that the Queen was a fantastic athlete who deserved the financial support from WWE.

Russo added that Mone might have been utilizing Charlotte's contract as leverage to get what she wanted financially.

He went so far as to say that AEW might cave in and give her a higher salary than the Queen.

In a bout against Asuka on the December 8, 2023, SmackDown edition, Charlotte Flair hurt her knee. After the match, the Empress of Tomorrow appeared to be in a lot of pain while Flair emerged victorious.
