Heughan Sam Thoughts on the "Bittersweet" End of "Outlander"

Outlander is ending, whether you want it to or not. When asked on BBC's The One Show how he felt about the show's coming end, star Sam Heughan said, "It's bittersweet." Eight years have passed..."I've lived for 10 years."

Of course, the last part of the time-travel story based on the books by Diana Gabaldon has a long way to go before it airs. The sixteen-episode seventh season of Outlander closed out its first half in August 2023, and the second half will air in 2024.

Season 8 is expected to come out in 2025, which is a long time from now. It will have 10 episodes. However, Starz has not officially announced a release date (or year).

The stories for Season 7 come from Gabaldon's sixth and seventh books in the series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes and An Echo in My Bones. The stories for Season 8 will likely come from books eight and nine,

Written in My Own Heart's Blood and Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. Gabaldon is currently writing book 10, which may or may not end the story of Jamie (Heughan) and Claire Fraser's (Caitríona Balfe) love story. So it's not clear what to expect.

"I can't believe it. It's been a great trip, Heughan said on BBC's The One Show. "But it’ll be sad to say goodbye to the ginger wig." Sam, you can say that again. And since the end is still a long way off, you probably will!

Sam Heughan Shows A Sneak Peek of the Beginning of Season 8 of "Outlander"

To cheer up Outlander fans during the Droughtlander, Sam Heughan shared that Season 8 of the Diana Gabaldon-inspired show, which will be the last season, is now in production, or at least costume fittings. The hot Scot took fans inside the wardrobe department with a video set to Bear McCreary's "The Skye Boat Song" (Choral Version) (feat. Raya Yarbrough) with the simple note: "Entering the FINAL seas."
