Lainey Wilson Wins Entertainer of the Year and More at CMA

Lainey Wilson has had a busy year. On Wednesday, November 8, she won five prizes, including Entertainer of the Year, at the 57th Annual CMA prizes, where she was nominated nine times.

The honor brings the successful year for the country singer-songwriter to a close.

During her victory speech, a sobbing Wilson stated, "I've been in this town for 12 and a half years, and it finally feels like country music is starting to love me back." "I really, truly adore it."

Wilson continued by saying that she felt nine was her lucky number because she had been nominated for that many CMA awards and had experienced other significant events with the number nine in her life.

Wilson added, "I wrote my first song in that year as well." "I received my first pair of bell bottoms in that particular year.

" This is the year when my parents took me to Nashville for the first time and to the Grand Ole Opry."

She continued, "That was the year my parents brought home Tex, a wild horse that needed to be broken. They threw me on the back of the animal and told me to grip on and ride.

Let me tell you something, there were moments when I wanted to jump off this monster and cry, but every time it started to buck, I would grab on a little bit harder. I believe that's what prepared me for this crazy trip. I'm grateful you let me be who I am.
