LaKeith Stanfield and James Samuel, the stars of "The Book of Clarence," say, "It's absolutely not what meets the eye."

The Big Tigger Morning Show on Audacy and V-103 was joined by actor LaKeith Stanfield and writer/director Jeymes Samuel to discuss their next film, The Book of Clarence, which will be released on January 12, 2024.

Starring Stanfield, Omar Sy, Anna Diop, RJ Cyler, David Oyelowo, Teyana Taylor, and Caleb McLaughlin

the widely anticipated picture provides a daring new perspective on the timeless Biblical-era epic.

In a nutshell, the film follows Clarence (LaKeith Stanfield), a down-on-his-luck man who is trying to make a better life for his family while also working to get out of debt.

Captivated by the emerging Messiah's and his apostles' strength and splendor, he risks everything to pave his own route to a godly life

only to learn that the redemptive force of believing may be his only way out.

Speaking with Big Tigger about the film, which has sparked outrage following the release of the teaser

Jeymes stated that the project is intended to be both artistic expression and a beginning point for debate.

"The best art is dialogue starting, but… also artistic expression." It's worth noting that the teaser is simply that: a teaser.

The Book of Clarence, which has new music from the film's writer and director Jeymes Samuel and is produced by JAY-Z, will be released on January 12, 2024. Check out the much-discussed trailer below.
